Manny Bonett
Manny studied sculpture and graphics at Camberwell College of Art. During his final year he was taken to a ‘Massive Attack’ video shoot where he forgot about his future as a fine artist. The day after graduating he applied to be a runner. From runner to directors’ assistant, shadowing directors from pre-to-post production on commercial campaigns and promos. An invaluable education that helped in his final transition to becoming a Director.
Whether it’s the playful innocence of the ‘Impulse’ teenagers or the obsessive ‘Callaway’ golfers Manny’s work always has a stylised aesthetic with a beautiful cinematic quality. Narrative and dialogue are starting to figure more heavily in Manny’s work, after successfully completing season 1 & 2 of ‘Sofia’s Diary’ for Sony Pictures International. The show made broadcasting history by becoming the first Internet drama to be bought and aired by a terrestrial TV channel.
